Newfoundland Holiday Cottage in St Ishmaels
Newfoundland is a beautifully renovated and sympathetically extended detached stone cottage, just a few minutes walk from the foreshore of The Gann estuary, a designated SSSI* area that teems in wonderful bird and wildlife overlooking the sheltered Dale Bay at the entrance to the Milford Haven waterway.
Finished to a high standard throughout and furnished in a traditional style with antique pieces and beautiful local Tregwynt Woollen Mill fabrics, all its original charm has been retained with restored fireplaces, lime render, slate window sills and wooden beams. Step into the welcoming dining room/snug, one step down takes you to a wonderfully fitted stylish cottage kitchen with limestone flags and all mod-cons, a passageway takes you to the stunning contrasting sitting room with vaulted ceiling, the two glass walls really maximise the panoramic views across the rural valley to Marloes - simply breathtaking. A wood burning stove ensures a cosy feel while the bi-fold doors open to a decked terrace where you can dine alfresco on a summer’s evening and soak up the view. Steps lead down to the large, enclosed lawned garden giving space for children to play. There is a bedroom on the ground floor while stairs lead up to two further beautiful bedrooms on the first floor with ensuite bathrooms complete with roll-tops baths.
Tucked away yet within a short walk of the foreshore, spend your days relaxing or exploring the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path, at low tide you can walk across to Dale or 4 miles by road, this pretty waterside village and beach, because of its sheltered harbour, is popular with sailors and those who like to mess around on the water. Refresh after your walk at the waterside pub The Griffin recently voted the best for seafood restaurant in 2016. Or alternatively try the Yacht Club or cafe and watersports hire centre. There are also village pubs serving food in St Ishmaels and in the neighbouring village of Marloes. Take your pick from a number of beautiful beaches to visit including Lindsway Bay, West Dale, Musslewick and Marloes Sands. Martins Haven is the embarkation point for boat trips to the neighbouring RSPB islands of Skomer, Stokholm and Grassholm, a visit to see the puffins, seals and shearwaters should not be missed.
A beautiful holiday home ideal for rest and relaxation whatever the time of year.
